Since CUT! launched in August 2010, we’ve made it our mission to screen EXCLUSIVE ADVANCE PREVIEWS of some of the most horrific, arty, and downright weird movies around – all accompanied by FREE BEER and with every attendee getting entered into a FREE PRIZE DRAW to win a goodie bag bulging with DVDs, plus a box of assorted BIZARRE crap we’ve found lying around the office.

The response has been nothing short of PHENOMENAL, in fact the CUT! Vol 6 exclusive preview screening of John Wayne Gacy serial killer flick THE LAST VICTIM was our first FULL HOUSE! SO JOIN US AND SEE WHAT ALL THE FUSS IS ABOUT!

MOVIE: THE DIVIDE – "“A powerful slice of post-apocalyptic horror that goes for the jugular!" RATING: 4 STARS.

You know how even the nastiest fright flicks often have their funny moments? Well there’s not a single hint of humour in this exercise in bleakness.

A powerful slice of post-apocalyptic horror that goes for the jugular from the off, it documents the plight of a small, disparate bunch of nuclear attack survivors holed-up in the basement of an apartment building.

As he proved with his previous excursion into fear, Frontier(s), director Xavier Gens is a maestro when it comes to depicting man at his basest and most brutal. With the first half of the film concentrating on each character’s struggle to maintain their sanity, the second takes a full-on nosedive into psychosis. While this gives Gens full-rein to crank up the brutality to sickening levels, what transpires can hardly be classed as entertaining; simply because it’s such an endurance test watching everyone mentally unravel, as all societal norms are removed. Think Lord of the Flies: only packed with gruesome acts of violence and sexual abuse.

This is an EXCLUSIVE, ADVANCE PREVIEW, as THE DIVIDE isn’t released at cinemas until 2O APRIL and on DVD 14 MAY. SEE IF FIRST AT CUT!
