MEDEA DREAM

MEDEA DREAM is a small cast, experimental musical, retelling the myth of Medea and Jason as a battle between two cultures, the matrilineal, more egalitarian world of prehistoric humanity, and the patriarchal, slave owning society that would become classical Greece. The structure is in the “traditional” form of dialogue interspersed with songs that are essential to the development of story and character. It has Peter Brook “empty space” staging with no scenery, very few props.
Medea and Jason battle for the soul of their son, Billy. What future is in store for him? Will he have any future at all?
“I would cut through stone for you
I would cut through my heart”
