Drawings on Fabric by Neringa Plange
EXHIBITION: Sun 24th, Mon 25th and Tues 26th May, 12 – 6PM
A selection of drawings focusing solely on the role of an artist as an executor, someone who is being absent, involved (or not at all). Decisions made (or not) one day may reappear as a line, a tone texture or an image.
Different textures of fabric may suggest mixed realities coming together. They also dictate the speed and the shape of each drawing. So the relationship with materials and the preparation time forms a purely individual approach that allows further intricate explorations.
Neringa Plange, now London-based, grew up in Soviet Lithuania but has lived, studied, worked elsewhere for the past 16 years. Perhaps this experience has created a tension between a systematic approach and an individual, fragmented, one.
