AFTER LONDON (what exactly happened…)
A newly discovered planet has turned out not to be a planet… It gobbed into the Thames… spurted a poisonous load… whether in disgust or fun… who knows… But now… the river is sick… from New Qatar to the Island of the Dogs…
Under the bridges the poison flows… the river is deadly… and foul…
The governors moved quickly to contain the spread of the toxic waste… A machine sealed the city’s inner circle… known as the snake… (cos it is a snake)... After London some stayed and some got out... the inner circle was left to its fate…
The outside knows nothing of what is inside… and vice versa…
After London the river is off limits… a boiling sludge… and the sky is off limits too… The bees have the air… nothing inside gets outside… and talk-talk only flies inside… After London the bees block all helicopters and mobile phone signals from coming outside… The bees have their revenge… a ring of mobile phone masts are now hives…
After London if you are in… there is no way out… even as a corpse… unless… The insiders run the snake… from the anus to the mouth… but… After London no insider has got further than the stomach of the snake…
Everyone knows the snake will digest and shit you… even so…
After London on the inside you still believe in the City… as the asset… (you don’t believe in)... The law of derivatives rules every exchange… every gesture is a singular contract…
After London on the inside… every hello/goodbye lasts as long as it takes… and no more… Everything speeds… never stops… everyone inside is a clever accelerating machine…
After London everyone outside struggles with the flood caused by the comet… Everyone sticks with their own kind… slow coaches eating roaches… After London the islands of the Midsex, Slurrey, Easyex and Kentushy Chicken form councils… With Kid’s Palace, the Marshes of the Dead and HillyDownUK…
After London the councils pay tribute… feeding the snake with all manner of goods… The insiders receive the snake’s shit as a gift of food and useful things… After London outsiders collect the corpses of insiders that float past Dog Island… After London all are common flesh… and everyone is laid to rest in the Marshes of the Dead…
After London many insiders try to run the snake but meet a sorry end… then… One day… a miracle! An insider walks out of the snake’s mouth… and is led before the councils… After London the outside wants to know what is inside… but the insider speaks too fast…
Bees spike the insider with a slower-downer… who says… you are either in or you’re out…
Who says... After London... nothing is true... everything is permitted!

Plastique Fantastique is a group that investigates aesthetics, the sacred, politics and both popular and mass culture through comics, performances, texts, assemblages and installations. It is envisaged as a group of human and inhuman avatars delivering communiqués from the extreme past and the future. Its works are baroque and transformative, they express a subversive urgency and are frequently site-specific. Plastique Fantastique will be in residence at The Horse Hospital for a week during which they will present two public events.
