The Gluttonous Lady That Swallowed a Fly
Private View: Thursday 8th November 7:30pm
Exhibition: Friday 9th Nov – Saturday 24th Nov 2012, Mon - Sat, 12 – 6pm
For many years, artist Toni Gallagher has pondered the back-story of the old lady that swallowed a fly and her curious eating habits. Why did she swallow the fly?
Who was she? And how exactly do you swallow a cow whole?
With your help, we can find the answers to these perennially asked questions that have puzzled mankind for decades.
“The Gluttonous Lady That Swallowed a Fly” is the first in a series of shows inspired by The Seven Deadly Sins. This inaugural exhibition explores Gluttony via a collection of mixed media, photographic x-rays and sculptures, referring to the eponymous Lady.
