Directed by Olivia Emes, If My Pussy Could Talk follows the inner workings of Nick Townsend’s mind as he transforms from playful, vivacious Trixie to provocative, Sexy Nicole, a sex site swinger with a hunger for love.
The film is a poetic enquiry into Nick and his multiple personas, exploring the art of survival, and our need to express and be free. We journey with Nick, Trixie and Nicole through a quest of sexual discovery, unexpected intimacy and emotional challenges accompanied by the most important character of them all, Charlie his cat.
Set to a backdrop of high-rise London and the Avalon countryside, the film reflects the conflicts of finding contentment in both our internal and external ever-changing environments. Highlighting the current demise and death of cultural London, the film provokes the idea of inspiration and where we turn to in order to evolve and grow.
Through a tapestry of video diaries and evocative dream sequences, If My Pussy Could Talk takes us on a thought provoking trip to question what it means to be alive. It challenges the concept of identity in a world where deep down, on a basic human level, we are fundamentally all the same.
