You are invited to Nothing’s Happening, a special, intimate one of a kind happening marking the opening of this exhibition brought to you by Josephine Foster and Alexia Marmara marking the opening of their exhibition Anew Old Adage.
Doors: 7:00pm
Tickets: £7 - £10 - £15
To accompany the exhibited work, musician Josephine Foster will be reading a selection of poetry gathered especially for this exhibition and incantations composed specifically for the space. Artist, researcher and curator Alexia Marmara will be delivering a performance lecture drawing on her extensive creative research practice.
You will be supporting a well known musician communicating with you through two of her lesser known mediums. Please remember The Horse Hospital will never turn away anyone due to lack of funds, so if you are unable to purchase tickets do not hesitate to let us know and we can figure something out.
This event is programmed to mark the opening of their exhibition.
‘The title of our show came from Josephine’s incandescent mind, one which has birthed some of my favorite songs. I saw herperforming some of her poetry at Cafe Oto in 2022, and I proudly consider this an altering moment in my existence: a purity and joyfulness I continue to hold onto very tightly. The past year has mud on its boots, and with Anew Old Adage we’ll cast the dirt away. Themes of our work unfolded serendipitously as similarities in our life paths unraveled. To have Josephine be a part of my unexpected journey with painting is a huge honor.’ - Alexia
