What makes a voice ‘hysterical’?

We're delighted that Kate Mahony will be running her screaming workshop for us at the Horse Hospital during Aiden Canaday and Rose de Borman’s exhibition Life Vessels.

You'll explore the historical, social and practical use of the hysterical voice as a tool to embolden, emote and express ideas within a collective safe space.

Participants will be shown and given vocal warm ups and small tasks to explore their interior worlds to question, re-claim and celebrate ‘other’ ways of sounding.

Kate Mahony is an artist and lead singer for two post-punk bands Rainham Sheds and Shake Chain. She has been singing hysterically for the past 10 years.

Come along!
