Gutter Sprung is proud to host a movement workshop with Bea Bidault.
Tickets: £20 (£15 concession)
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds
Bea’s workshop will focus on how improvisation can be used to expand movement pathways as well as an awareness of the patterns we tend to use and how to break them down.
Through the class, there is a progression that allows for a full-body exploration of targeted aspects such as isolations (dissociating and combining different body parts), the use of stillness, impulse, momentum and impact, in order to create different dynamics, sequential movements (finding different movements that connect the muscles in a 'chain reaction' dynamic), and textures. The workshop will also focus on how to apply these principles in a performative setting, finding new pathways and rhythms and investigating tension as a means of expression. The class will follow with crossings aimed to develop the vocabulary available, offering ways in and out of the floor and exploring our connection to gravity
Workshop timetable:
