Nico Carmandaye’s film Whispers, Wishes, Whatever follows an unnamed protagonist, who after watching an inspirational video, becomes fixated on the idea of reinventing their life. Through sheer desperation they embark on a chaotic and uncomfortable journey of awkward love affairs, alternative medicine and ‘edgy’ art.
Nico Carmandaye is an artist, writer and director based in London. He is co-founder of the queer art collective Zurnal Zine whose work has been exhibited internationally. Nico has directed numerous micro budget shorts such as The Fairy Rat Quartet, It’s the End of the World and Woman With a Parasol. His work has been featured in Dazed, i-D and Another Magazine.
