New York Underground Chick Flicks is a program of mesmerising confrontingly painful and poetic films from three filmmakers living the New York City Underground experience. The films of Jasmine Hirst, MM Serra and Anne Hanavan journey through the hellish and exquisite travels of the darker human experience. This program is not for the light at heart as it not only glimpses but saturates itself into the often-silenced unimaginable darkness of the human psyche. As these women express the worst side of humanity, there emerges an exquisite beauty of one crawling out from the jungle of intolerable pain.
