ANIMATION EAST & WEST: a panorama of contemporary animation

This Salon is going to explore the relationship between eastern and western animation.

Through a selection of groundbreaking contemporary short animations, we will consider the influence that eastern european and russian animation has had on the rest of the west, both technically and conceptually and investigate the relationship between animation and literature and the ancient tradition of animating matter, from the old Golem myths, to alchemy, puppetry, surrealism and animation.
