Since CUT! launched in August 2010, we’ve made it our mission to screen EXCLUSIVE ADVANCE PREVIEWS of some of the most horrific, arty, and downright weird movies around – all accompanied by FREE BEER and with every attendee getting entered into a FREE PRIZE DRAW to win a goodie bag bulging with DVDs, plus a box of assorted BIZARRE crap we’ve found lying around the office.

Okay, events do get off to an arse-numbing, somewhat laughable start, and yes, some of the acting verges on the amateurish. But once the Lord of the Flies-style lunacy kicks in, everything that originally appeared twattish suddenly takes on a disconcerting sense of menace. It’s a tonal shift enhanced by such frenzied moments as the title’s night time rampage: which commences with the fake blood-letting of a ‘virgin’, and concludes with some very real skull smashing.
Ultimately, first-time feature director Alexandre Franchi delivers an exhilarating mash-up of comedy, drama and blood-drenched tragedy. Which is exactly the kind of crazy shit that CUT! fans expect – and love
