Layering harmonies and vocal percussion with live looping, artist and composer Clair Le Couteur weaves together Irish, English, Scottish and Australian traditional ballads from the time of the Transportation. Dark electro-folk tales of deportation, economic slavery, prison ships and bushrangers - Australia's highwaymen - build into an immersive, meditative experience with responsive VJ soundscaping and projections by artist Nayan Kulkarni and intricate rhythms from choreographer and percussionist Carli Jefferson.
