Torishéju Dumi produces womenswear and menswear under her newly-launched label of the same name, TORISHÉJU. Born in North-West London, Torishéju’s first exposure to fashion was her mother’s taste in 19th Century design and art, which surrounded her in her family home. Her Nigerian-Brazilian, Catholic upbringing also figures centrally in her work: religion, tradition, and spirituality are constant themes. Torishéju graduated from the MA Fashion course at Central Saint Martins and is an alumna of Lee Alexander McQueen’s Sarabande Foundation. Prior to her MA, Torishéju worked at brands such as CÉLINE, under the creative direction of Phoebe Philo, and other labels including Ann Demeulemeester, Giles Deacon, and Sibling London.

As well as drawing on personal experience, Torishéju's work emerges from historical research and an interest in cultural anthropology. Reinterpreting discovered pasts and cultural forces through the lens of fantasy, her methods and designs bridge the gap between imagination and lived-in reality.
